Tourism And Hospitality Scholarships Available To
Application Deadline is September 30
HARTFORD, Conn. (August 1, 2005) - Connecticut residents considering a
future in hospitality or tourism are invited to apply for $1,000 in scholarship
funds from the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism.

"Consequently, opportunities for young people in this sector are

tourism and hospitality scholarships, we are able to nurture students pursuing a
variety of careers by helping to defer a portion of the cost of their college
To be eligible, applicants must be Connecticut residents who
are seniors at a Connecticut high school; high school graduates who have not yet
begun a college curriculum; or students at accredited, two- or four-year
colleges or universities with advanced degree programs.
Scholarship winners must
attend an accredited university or college on a full- or part-time basis
(minimum of 6 credit hours) and be enrolled in a tourism or hospitality degree
program. Scholarships are
awarded on the basis of academic and personal achievement, as well as a
demonstrated interest in the hospitality or tourism industry.
